Through case studies, participants will explore how gender roles and the balance of power in relationships impact safe motherhood, as well as the role of men in the pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum periods. Finally, gender assessment tools are examined and discussed in relation to participants’ own safe motherhood projects and/or programs.
