Gender-based Violence and Reproductive Health
Description:
This newly developed module is an introduction to gender-based violence (GBV) in the context of reproductive health, with a focus on intimate partner violence. Workshop participants will explore how GBV is defined, the types of violence it includes, violence that occurs through a woman's life cycle, and its impact on women's health. Recent WHO data and country-specific health data also will be discussed. Participants will explore the myths and realities of GBV and why many women remain in violent relationships. Interventions to address GBV will be examined as well as how participants can apply them to their own projects.
