Engaging Men and Boys in RH/Maternal Health/HIV

The Interagency Gender Working Group (IGWG) invites you to a Demonstration Workshop on Engaging Men and Boys in RH/Maternal Health/HIV. The training will introduce participants to approaches used to engage men within the PHN sector. It will familiarize participants with leading tools and exercises developed by Engender Health staff under the ACQUIRE project, and the Program H Alliance coordinated by Instituto Promundo that promote constructive male involvement.

Workshop Objectives

  • Learn about approaches to engage men in RH/Maternal Health/HIV
  • Utilize leading tools that promote constructive male involvement
  • Discuss gender issues faced by project/program staff
  • Discuss strategies to integrate constructive male involvement approaches into existing portfolios
  • Become familiar with available TA and resources from the IGWG

The workshop will be conducted over two days, October 26 - 27, 2005, at JSI.

Participants will be expected to attend both full days of the training. We are sorry that we cannot accept partial participation.

Who
The training is for USAID BGH and CA staff, as well as representatives of other RH organizations interested in promoting male involvement.

The workshop will be conducted by trainers from the Program H Alliance and EngenderHealth.
