Learning Event: Harnessing FP Insight as a Tool to Support Knowledge Exchange in GBV Prevention

Posted on October 10, 2023

Event Overview: The Interagency Gender Working Group (IGWG)’s GBV Task Force hosted a learning event on October 5 from 8:00-9:00 a.m. EDT. This event brought together IGWG members and those who use GBV-related information to explore the FP insight platform—a knowledge management tool that can help gender experts and practitioners find and share GBV response and prevention knowledge and resources to a broader audience of family planning and reproductive health (FP/RH) and gender professionals.

FP insight serves as a critical platform for both novices and technical experts in the gender space to improve their expertise and support practitioners to make the case for how addressing gender-related barriers to care is key to the success of FP/RH programs. Additionally, the event provided participants with an opportunity to network and discuss recent publications and innovations in the GBV response and prevention field, identify useful GBV-related resources, and contribute to the IGWG GBV Task Force FP insight collection, a resource that will be shared as an educational tool for the broader FP/RH community following the event.

The event began with a brief orientation on the FP insight platform. Participants then joined breakout rooms designed to highlight barriers to knowledge curation and sharing in GBV prevention and response, as well as identify resources for the IGWG GBV Task Force’s FP insight collection.
