The 2023 IGWG Plenary explored how gender transformative programs can better address workplace inequities affecting health workers, and improve health and gender outcomes. Drawing upon the rich discussion points that emerged from the Plenary, this brief provides examples of common gender inequities facing global health workers and offers recommendations and resources for program implementers on how to address these inequities based on evidence-building practices.

Published in recognition of the 2023 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) campaign, this brief highlights six innovative approaches—related to community engagement and system strengthening—for addressing GBV. The case studies from three MOMENTUM projects offer practical insights for gender experts, practitioners, and advocates, particularly those working in GBV pre­vention and response, to apply and adapt in their own work.

ICRW conducted a scoping and mapping exercise in Kenya, Uganda, and India to explore the roll-out and implementation of health and socio-economic-related COVID-19 policy responses, and to understand the status and specific challenges of urban informal women workers in each context. This brief shares findings, case studies, and recommendations from these research exercises.

UNFPA APRO developed tools for country offices and partners to strengthen gender-based violence (GBV) and disability inclusion programming, including a tip-sheet on disability inclusion in GBV programming and a GBV and disability inclusion assessment tool. The lessons learned from the implementation of the tools informed this documentation on promising practices and innovative approaches to disability inclusion in GBV programming adopted by UNFPA country offices and their partners in the Asia-Pacific region.
