Gender Synchronization: Updating and Expanding the Concept

Posted on October 26, 2016

The presentation summarizes the updates to the 2010 “Gender Synchronization” report led by Meg Greeene of Greeneworks. Updates a broader more spectral approach to gender as well as an updated methodology behind gender-transformative approaches in gender programming design.

Presented at the 2016 IGWG Plenary by Margaret Greene; President of GreeneWorks, LLC, which conducts research and provides thought leadership on the intersection of health, development and social inequality to many different organizations. Over the past two years, Dr. Greene co-authored MenCare’s State of the World’s Fathers, supported the Office of the First Lady as her team developed their thinking about the obstacles that stand in the way of girls’ education, and co-authored a “business case” for a group of donors on investing in research on adolescent access to contraception. She received a PhD in Demography from the University of Pennsylvania, and a BA in linguistics from Yale. She has just completed five years as Chair of the Board of Promundo-US, where she continues to be a member.
