Experience of Violence and Association With HIV Risk Amoung Young Kenyan Women in the Context of the DREAMS Initiative

This presentation looks at the association between Violence and HIV risk among young women in Kenya and was presented by Dr. Sanyukta Mathur at the GBV Task Force Event “Child, Early and Forced Marriage and Intimate Partner Violence” on March 6, 2017.

Sanyukta Mathur is a Project Director, of the DREAMS Implementation Science Research at the Population Council. Dr. Mathur is a behavioral and social scientist and a researcher with the Population Council HIV and AIDS program. Her research focuses on the intersection of social norms, gender and empowerment, livelihoods, and social transitions on reproductive health and HIV/AIDS outcomes in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. She currently serves as the project director for the Council’s DREAMS implementation science research portfolio. She is also an adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.
